Michigan Medicine (MM), the academic medical center of the University of Michigan, operates three high‑volume loading docks that handle more than 5,000 tons of regulated and non‑regulated waste annually. The primary objectives of this project are to map every waste stream from the units to the docks, centralize contract and spend data, and develop consolidation strategies that optimize cost, reliability, efficiency, and resilience within logistical and space constraints.
